Oasis contro fan di Coldplay e Radiohead

Il frontman Liam Gallagher definisce i supporter delle band rivali �brutti e noiosi�

Lingua lunga Liam - Che Liam Gallagher, al pari di suo fratello Noel, non fosse propriamente un simpaticone, questo gi� lo sospettavamo. Ma con la sua ultima uscita, il frontman degli Oasis scioglie ogni nostro dubbio e prosegue nella sua curiosa abitudine di sparare a zero sui colleghi. Vittime designate, questa volta, i fan dei �rivali� Radiohead e Coldplay.

C'era un ragazzo, che come me... - In un�intervista rilasciata al Times, il cantante rivela di non ascoltare la musica di band contemporanee, ma di dedicarsi per lo pi� a Beatles, Rolling Stones e poco altro. Poi va pi� sullo specifico, affermando: �Mi sono ammorbidito, ma non nel senso che mi piaciono i Coldplay o i Radiohead�. Ma, in un empito di umanit�, precisa: �Non li odio. Non gli auguro di avere un incidente�. Quasi quasi, a sentire parole cos� tenere, stavamo per cambiare idea. Ma ecco che arriva l�affondo.

I nostri fan sono meglio dei vostri - �Penso che i loro fan siano brutti e noiosi e sembra che non si divertano�, conclude Liam, sorvolando forse sul fatto che i seguaci di Radiohead e Coldplay sono, in non pochi casi, anche i loro. Che dire, gli Oasis ci avevano gi� abituato a simili polemiche, basti pensare alla querelle di ormai oltre dieci anni fa con i Blur. Ma bando alle ciance, lasciamo parlare i fatti: il 6 ottobre esce Dig Out Your Soul, nuovo album della band di Manchester. Speriamo che la musica degli Oasis sia incisiva quanto la loro lingua.

Oasis set for Scotland?

Man the barricades and put your crash helmets on...the Gallaghers are coming to Scotland.

Email can exclusively reveal Oasis will play their first gigs here for three years.

Details of their eagerly awaited UK tour - to promote new album Dig Out Your Soul - are still shrouded in secrecy.

But we can confirm the band will play at Aberdeen Exhibition Centre on November 2 then Glasgow's SECC on November 4 and 5. Tickets go on sale on August 20.

It is the first time they have played shows in Scotland since headlining a massive 40,000-capacity open-air gig at Hampden Park, Glasgow, in 2005.

The group - led by guitarist Noel Gallagher and singer brother Liam - release new single The Shock Of The Lightning on September 29.

Dig Out Your Soul follows on October 6. It is their seventh studio album and was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road.

Noel said: "If The Shock Of The Lightning sounds instant and compelling it's because it was written and recorded dead fast.

"It's basically a demo and has retained its energy. There's a lot to be said for that - the first time you record something is always the best.

"On the album I wanted a sound that was more hypnotic, more driving. Songs you would maybe have to connect to...to feel."

Noel also paid tribute to the songwriting efforts of brother Liam on the new CD.

The fiery singer penned three tracks including I'm Outta Time, which features a speech sample by his hero, John Lennon.

Noel said: "Liam's songs are really personal. What's his favourite subject? Himself. He's really good.

"If he could be bothered to finish some of the songs he started...they're amazing."

Liam Gallagher puts Bourton-On-The-Water in a trance

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher swaggered into the Cotswolds to shoot a surreal video for the band's new album.

The rock 'n' roll star, sporting a dark suit sprinkled with white dust and a matador's hat, filmed at Bourton's model village � a miniature replica of the village as it was in 1937.

The bad boy of pop greeted Cotswold Farm Park owner Adam Henson with an 'Alright geezer' before wading through a stream and being strapped to a parachute as cameras rolled.

Liam was shooting for the track I'm Out Of Time for the new Dig Out Your Soul album, to be released on October 6.

Oasis, whose hits Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger made them the biggest band of the 1990s, release the album's preview track The Shock Of The Lightning on September 29.

A 20-strong freelance film crew, working for one of London's leading music video production companies Factory Films, descended on Bourton.

The video was the vision of director Wiz, who has worked with the Kaiser Chiefs and Kasabian.

Oasis fan George Atherton, 18, son of Old New Inn landlords Julian and Vicki who own the model village behind their pub, said: "They had big 650 watt lights and lots of dry ice for a smoky effect and filmed from 11pm to 2.30pm.

"They set up four different shots. Liam walked down Bourton's main street, leaned with his back against St Lawrence Church, lay down behind Victoria Hall and walked over the bridge in front.

"It sounded like a typical Oasis song, with a bit of guitar and good lyrics."

Sister Melissa, 16, added: "Liam seemed like a nice guy, shook my hand and was quite polite.

"It's good news for the pub � Oasis are really big and the Model Village is just a little tourist attraction."

Adam Henson, who runs the rare breeds Cotswold Farm Park, said: "Having a grade A celebrity on the farm was really exciting.

"I introduced myself and said 'I'm the farmer here' and he said in his Mancunian accent 'Alright geezer'.

"My partner Charlie was his chauffeur.

"Having to walk through a stream up to his knees in mud Liam said 'I wish I hadn't written this music now'."

Location scout Tim Blair said: "A model village was part of Wiz's vision so we were drawn to Bourton. Everyone in Bourton looked after us very well."

Presto sar� annunciato il TOUR mondiale che porter� gli OASIS in giro per il mondo per almeno 12 mesi, forse 18. Lo anticipa il SUN, aggiungendo che sar� un tour talmente grande che potresti aspettartelo solo da band come i Rolling Stones.... e invece per quasi 2 anni saranno gli OASIS a girare il mondo. Dalle anticipazioni in nostro possesso dopo le date americane di settembre, ci saranno a ottobre e novembre moltissime date in UK e alcune date in Europa nelle citt� pi� importanti, dopo ci sar� ancora l'America con le date in Messico e qualche nuova data in arrivo. In Europa torneranno solo nella primavera del 2009 per concerti col "BOTTO".

OASIS will kick off a massive world tour in October, I can reveal.

The lads are due to announce their plans in the next few weeks � and the tour will be their boldest yet.

The band, who had a 1994 hit with Live Forever, will start their dates in the UK this autumn, head off for more gigs, then return more than 12 months later to wrap things up at home.

Wembley and their beloved Manchester City�s home ground will be among the UK venues.

And some lucky fans will be able to see them play at the intimate Roundhouse in London for a filmed BBC special.

The start of the tour will coincide with the release of seventh studio album Dig Out Your Soul, on October 6.

A source revealed: �The tour is bigger than anything the band have done before.

�They will be on the road for more than a year � possibly pushing 18 months.

�The dates could easily run into three figures and will take them around the world.

�It is on the kind of scale you would expect from THE ROLLING STONES. The fellas who have hatched the plan are very proud and excited.�

Scraps

I hope the Oasis lads have their hard hats ready.

It�s a hell of a long time for volatile brothers NOEL and LIAM GALLAGHER to spend together on the road.

The band have had a fair few scraps on their travels.

On a 1996 tour of the US the band nearly split up as Liam and Noel�s fighting reached new levels.

And they haven�t mellowed quite yet either.

Noel showed how he can still dish it out with a cutting jibe at ex-drummer TONY McCARROLL.

Talking to the NME magazine about how new sticksman CHRIS SHARROCK was fitting in, Noel said: �The first few weeks I felt for him because he�s got to drum like four people.

�He�s gotta play like our old drummers Tony McCarroll, ALAN WHITE and ZAK STARKEY and, of course, himself.

�To play drums in Oasis is deceptively difficult. You can�t play like THE WHO�s KEITH MOON, particularly on the older stuff, because it wasn�t about drums.

�On Lyla and tracks like that you can pretend to be Moon.

�But the older stuff you�ve got to pretend you�re Tony McCarroll.

�Sit there and be crap with a s**t haircut.�

Noel Gallagher has spoken about a wild night out � that saw him hanging out with Marilyn Manson and 'Grease' character Kenickie � while mixing Oasis' new album in Los Angeles.

The Oasis leader was over in America working on 'Dig Out Your Soul' with producer Dave Sardy when he and brother Liam Gallagher ended up on a very unlikely wild night out.

In an this extract from NME's exclusive with the guitarist, Noel Gallagher reveals how the self-styled God Of Fuck invited him to a show, after which the Jeff Conaway, the actor who played Kenickie pulled a knife on him.

Noel: "Don't ask how, but we know his [Marilyn Manson] bass player, Twiggy."
Twiggy Ramirez. The guy who wears the leather skirt, right?
Noel: "�and he wears a witch's hat as well. Don't ask. So anyway, they're doing a gig, and he says, 'Manson wants you to come up and see him.' He's a massive Oasis fan: 'Be Here Now' is his favourite album because it was recorded on a fucking mountain of charlie. The plan was to get there ten minutes before he comes offstage. Now, along the way the message got garbled and we got there ten minutes before he came onstage�"

So you had to sit through a Marilyn Manson show?
Noel: "We get marched to a spot behind the mixing desk, and there�s all these American goths, and the gig's going on, it's all screaming and shouting, rape and pillage and all that fucking shit. Before one song he goes, '(adopts booming dark lord voice) I WANNA DEDICATE THIS SONG TO THE TWO BIGGEST FUCK-UPS IN ENGLAND!' Me and our kid are looking at him, and looking at each other going, 'He means you, 'cos Lord knows he don�t mean me.' Then he's going, 'OASIS ARE IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT!', and he starts doing 'Cocaine Supernova' and screaming, 'THESE TWO GUYS FROM ENGLAND, THEY'RE BIGGER FUCK-UPS THAN I AM!' Anyway, so we go back after the gig and we just got fucking absolutely� beyond pissed on absinthe. That's when Kenickie from 'Grease' fucking pulled a knife on us.

"He comes into the dressing room, and Liam's been watching 'Celebrity Rehab' so he's going, 'Ah, there's fucking Kenickie!' So we get him over and we're all pissed, so we're like, 'Why are you on a fucking walking stick, you lightweight!?' He's going, 'My back's fucked. Fucking John Travolta in 'Grease' � he's so fucking short, they made me stoop over and that's when I invented the famous Kenickie walk!'

"We were going, 'What?! The famous Kenickie walk?' He started doing this walk so we're giving him a bit of stick. And he says, 'Hey, I'm fucking still young enough to pull a knife on you!' and he whips out this flick-knife. We just laughed, like, 'You silly old man!' That was a great night � we all got more drunk on absinthe and argued in the van all the way home about some Kinks fucking B-side."

01 August 2008 - A preview of a new Oasis single has been uploaded to YouTube.

The video montage of their hits, teamed with footage of the Gallagher brothers' mammoth gigs, culminates in a short clip of their new single called The Shock Of The Lightning.

The song is set to be released on 29 September, ahead of the band's seventh studio album Dig Out Your Soul, which is out on 6 October.

The album was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Oasis' single goes to radio in Shaun's show at 8:15am on Friday 15 August.

Gli Oasis scoprono le carte: dopo le prime anticipazioni e la tracklist con tanto di copertina, ieri � stato rilasciato uno spezzone del brano �The shock of the lightning�, l�atteso primo singolo del nuovo album �Dig out your soul� nei negozi il prossimo 6 ottobre.

Su YouTube � apparso un filmato che raccoglie alcuni dei pi� grandi successi in audio/video dei fratelli Gallagher ( tra gli altri Lyla, Don�t look back in anger e Stop crying your heart out), con una chicca finale. Negli ultimi 30 secondi si sentono l�intro e il primo verso di una traccia inedita, molto energica e tosta, che ha subito mandato in delirio i fan che aspettano da 3 anni nuovo materiale dei loro beniamini.

Dopo il salto trovate la clip per intero ( se volete un veloce ripasso generale) e il frammento di �Shock of the lightning� se non volete perder tempo e godervi subito la novit�. Poi diteci se vi piace.
